This book encompasses pretty much everything you need to know to "go green." I love the way the author is very focused on doing what's best for your family and the environment, but at the same time, she loves convenience too. She doesn't go overboard and expect you to perform miracles in your daily life, so pretty much everything she suggests (if not everything) is achievable for the average person. Very informative book, love reading it and putting the ideas to good use for my family! I highly, highly recommend it if you have even the slighest want to "go green!"

This is one of the few books that cost more than $9.99 at Kindle book store. I bought it after reading all the high-mark reviews. Unfortunately, while there are some useful information, I found a lot of repetitive contents. This probably is good for readers who use it as a reference book from time to time, but for me it feels somewhat boring. As for reading this on Kindle, I don't recommend it. Tables are hard to read - while it's possible to zoom it up - the fonts in the talbes are so light in color that they are almost lost in the background. The page doesn't support side column that's frequently featured in the book (I have the 6" screen). So instead of showing up by the side of relevant contents, the information in the side columns are placed after the paragraphs in a narrower column, making the reading feel somewhat disconnected. So overall, though I've learned something from it, I don't think it's worth the price.
A treasure!

This book is a delight to read and a treasure trove of helpful ideas and information. There are clear, easy-to-follow directions throughout the book for making your own non-toxic and highly effective cleaning solutions. Renee Loux's easy, breezy writing style explaining why green living is so important is conversational, informative and wise.
My copy is already full of highlighted sections and tabbed pages, and every one of the recipes I've tried has been a success. If you don't feel like mixing up your own concoctions, she has pages of recommended product choices that also work well.
I am especially happy with the in-depth information about aromatherapy at home through the use of essential oils. We are so fortunate to live at a time when oils of peppermint, lavender, tea tree and so many others are easily and reasonably available. This book explains how to use all these essential oils throughout the home.
I'm already planning to re-order for gifts, as I think anyone would find useful information here. So many books try to cover this area. Renee Loux succeeds!
